Recently, my Graphic Design 2 class went on a field trip to the Kemper, Nelson Atkins, and KCAI.
My favorite part of the entire field trip was probably our visit to the individual studio.
They had a beautiful exhibit that featured Miles Neidinger that really inspired me. I absolutely love his work.
They also had three students renting out a room to work on all of their stop motion projects for their classes. I personally adore stop motion work and was fascinated by what they were doing, and I was very impressed.
There was also a room where this woman was a fashion designer who knitted, crocheted, designed and more. Her work was beautiful and I would even wear some of it.
My favorite shop was probably THE PRINT SHOP.
I LOOOOVED the print shop! It was so amazing to see how printing actually worked. I was even cooler to see that it turned out much better than than the digital printed version.
So yea! That was my trip. :3
Work by Miles Neidinger!

That print shop was super cool. It inspired me to try some printing techniques in class too!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever thought about taking up manual printing as a hobby? Or did you just find the process interesting?
ReplyDeleteI found the process interesting, and...
DeleteYou know, why not?
Maybe I'll take a side class in college.
hey y'all,
ReplyDeletei thought that the print shop was amazing too. I feel like the print shop really opened up possibilities that I have never thought of before... like the idea of printing on a shirt by hand. The process was really cool.:)
You should totally take the side class in college;)
